WORSHIP
Daily Morning and Evening Prayer
Morning Prayer is said at 8:30
a.m. and Evening Prayer at 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Why not begin or end your day uptown at Trinity? Mid-Week Holy Communion 12:15
p.m. Wednesdays. There are also services on important feasts and fasts
throughout the year which are announced in the weekly bulletins.
Sundays Said service at 8 a.m., sung service at 10:30 a.m. The
10:30 a.m. service is followed by ‘Coffee Hour’ in the Bennett Room.
CHRISTIAN EDUCATIONSunday School and Nursery There is Sunday
School and a Nursery during the 10:30 a.m. service most Sundays. Contact our
Sunday School Co-ordinator, Caroline Christie, for more information. St
Michael’s Club Kids 12 and up. Last Friday of each month, usually at
4:30 p.m. Catechism Classes The Bishop will be at Trinity for
Confirmation on June 27th. Adult and kids classes on Sunday afternoons. If
you would like to be confirmed, please contact the Rector. He will be glad to
arrange make-up classes. Or, if Sunday afternoons are impossible, he will try to
find another time to meet. If you’re asking yourself, ‘What is that? What is
Confirmation? Why would I want it?’ these are fair questions, too! Again, please
speak to the Rector. The Apostles’ Creed An informal adult study
group meets most Sundays at 9:30 a.m. to watch a short video clip and discuss
it. Faith and Film First Friday of the month, beginning with a
pot luck around 6:00 p.m. in the Bennett Room, followed by a movie and a chance
to discuss it for 20 - 30 minutes afterward. Women’s Bible Study
For more information, contact our Parish Nurse, Beth Lawson. Bible
Study and Home Theology Groups The Rector would love to start new study
groups. What book of the Bible do you want to read and discuss? What aspect of
the Christian faith do you need to investigate more closely? What classic would
you like to read? The Rector would particularly love to host a study of
Jesus’ Parables. A Gospel or the Books of Genesis or Exodus are also
possibilities. Or Ephesians, from St Paul’s letters. If anyone would like to
read things like St Augustine’s Confessions, or Dante’s Divine Comedy, the
Rector would be very keen, too. Theological Reading Circle We
have been reading works by Richard Hooker (1564-1600). In the next month we will
get together to begin reading one of the greatest books by any Anglican
Christian, The Laws of Ecclesiastical Policy. Any ideas? The Rector would
love to hear from you.
OUTREACHParish Nurse Our Parish Nurse, Beth Lawson, does
both ‘outreach’ into the community and ‘inreach’ to our congregation. She is at
the centre of the Parish’s ministry of healing. Call and make an appointment if
you’d like to talk to her or simply to find out more about what she does. Or
introduce yourself one Sunday when she’s at service. Outreach
Committee Last Autumn the Parish Vestry established an Outreach
Committee. They are doing a number of things to re-connect with Trinity’s
neighbourhood, build relationships of trust and good will, and so make known the
love of Christ. Volunteers welcome. They are also always looking for new ideas.
Teen Lunches Each Monday afternoon when school is in the Bennett
Room is open to students from St Malachy’s and Saint John High for lunch.
Community Breakfasts The third Wednesday of each month the doors
open at 9 a.m. to whoever wants to come. Community Dinners
Usually these are held at 5 p.m. on the fourth Saturday of the month.
Trinity also supports the Food Basket and Inner City Youth Ministries
(ICYM).
